Stating that the context in which organisations will have to conduct R&D in the future is becoming more uncertain and dynamic, is almost

stating the obvious. This session wishes the take the discussion to the next level by exploring ways in which organisations actually deal with this future context. More precisely, we want to think of possible ways in which R&D capabilities could be developed in such a context. For example, it raises issues such as future thinking of how R&D should be conducted and what technological capabilities will be needed, what impact human resource mobility will have on the accumulation of knowledge stocks and what tools and methods should be developed to analyse and visualise the current versus future technological capabilities needed for future firm strategies. Presentations in this session will look into these questions.
