R&D management for open innovation

Firms are increasingly adopting open innovation processes in their R&D activities. Scholars have analysed several facets of open innovation, but many questions such as the costs of OI, the differences between family and non-family in adopting/managing OI, the development of SMEs-interfirm collaborations and the management of intellectual property rights still remain underdeveloped. This session aims to collect and share qualitative and quantitative contributions on the mechanisms as well as the antecedents and the consequences of open innovation for R&D.
